Allison Cara Tolman (born April 2nd, 1985) is an American actor. She has been nominated Emmys and Golden Globes for her performance in Fargo Season 1 playing Molly Solverson. Tolman grew up with two older siblings and one younger. Her family relocated to England at the age of couple of months old, and she continued to stay until she reached four years old. Prior to moving to Sugar Land in Texas, she spent five years living in Oklahoma and West Texas. In the Fort Bend Community Theatre, she started taking acting classes at age 10. Clements High School was her high school. She graduated in 2000. Baylor University granted her a Master of Fine Arts with an emphasis on theatrical performance. Following her college graduation, she moved to Dallas in the United States, where she was among the original actors of Second Thought Theatre. After 2009, Tolman relocated from Chicago, Illinois, to study acting with The Second City Training Center. Tolman made her debut in 2014. She starred on the FX crime comedy Fargo's first season. Fargo was based on Coen Brothers' film that had the same title. It featured Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman alongside Bob Odenkirk. Tolman was praised for her performance as Minnesota the policeman Molly Solverson. Vanity Fair stated the character of Tolman, "calmly" and "assuredly" was the star of the show. The actress was also a guest star on NBC's Good Girls. The role she played was Alma Filcott, in the second episode in the series Why Women Kill.
